¡@¡@Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali was awarded as being
one of the 8 Most Bilingual-Friendly Hospital in Taiwan by the
Department of Health and Taiwan College of Healthcare Executives.
Mark Chan, the Project Manager of Jen-Ai Hospital International
Patient Center, was invited to attend the award ceremony, which
took place in Wan-Fang Hospital in Taipei on Tuesday, December
18, 2003. The Department of Health in Taiwan has been promoting
"Implementing Hospital's Bilingual Environment Project"
for the past 1 1/2 year and this award ceremony was held to recognize
all the hospitals that have made tremendous efforts in creating
a bilingual environment in their respective institutions.
¡@¡@Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali was especially commended for creating
the first International Patient Center program in Taiwan, along
with bilingual signs, forms, information leaflets, press releases,
advertisements, websites, etc. that were designed. Other services
that were different from other awardees included the bilingual
volunteer team, the English information hotline (0963-175-765),
the bilingual floor maps, collaboration with many international
associations in Taichung, etc. In the near future, Jen-Ai Hospital
International Patient Center hopes to add more information in
English and other languages; and continue to provide additional
services to help the increasing number of international patients
that have been coming to the hospital to seek medical assistance.
