¡@¡@In June 2004, Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali
again participated in various activities to further develop
the International Patient Center program at the hospital.
The following are just some of the activities that the Jen-Ai
Hospital - Dali participated in June:

AmCham Inaugural Meeting |
|
As a corporate member of AmCham,
Dr. Ming-I Chan Liao, the Superintendent of Jen-Ai
Hospital, and Mark Chan, the Program Director of
International Patient Center, attended the AmCham
Inaugural Meeting at Evergreen Laurel Hotel Ballroom
on B2 Floor. More than 50 individual, corporate
and permanent AmCham members participated in this
annual event to vote on the new Board of Directors
for the coming year. 9 Board Members were selected
and Dr. Chan Liao was honored to be chosen (for
the first time) as one of the 9 Board members to
take active roles in the American Chamber of Commerce
in Taichung.

Site Visit to China Medical University Hospital
in Taichung, Taiwan |

Mark Chan, along with Jennifer Chu,
the Project Manager of International Patient Center,
visited China Medical University Hospital
(
http://www.cmuh.org.tw/htdocs/english/e_index.htm
) to attend a
meeting that was held for hospitals in central Taiwan
that will be participating in "Implementing
Hospital's English Environment Project", this
year. As one of the winners of "Most Bilingual-Friendly
Hospital" in Taiwan, last year, Mark Chan shared
his experience on launching the first International
Patient Center in Taiwan at Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali
and shared his views on the practicality of providing
medical services to the international community
living in Taiwan.

Site Visits to 24-Hour Medical Clinics in Bali,
Indonesia |

Mark Chan visited several 24-hour
medical clinics in Bali, Indonesia to understand
the complexities of running a 24-hour emergency
assistance service for the international patients.
Clinics that Mark Chan visited, included: Klinik
SOS Medika - International SOS Medical Clinic Bali
( http://www.sos-bali.com
); Bali International Medical Centre - BIMC ( http://www.bimcbali.com
); Bali Clinic; Puskesmas Kuta I - Kuta Health Services;
etc. With useful insights obtained from these site
visits, Jen-Ai Hospital International Patient Center
hopes to launch its own 24-hour emergency assistance
service for Taichung's international community,
in the very near future.
