Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali Welcomes New IPC Member (1)

TAICHUNG, JEN-AI HOSPITAL - DALI ¡@¡@After
conducting 3 rounds of interviews (telephone interview, face-to-face
interview in English and computer skills test) for the past
2 months with 63 potential candidates, Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali
has finally decided on hiring Jennifer Chu, MPA to take over
the Project Manager position for the International Patient Center.
Jennifer Chu obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
from University of Dubuque in Iowa in 1995 and has studied in
New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public
Services for her Master of Public Administration in Health Policy
& Management; before returning to Taiwan in 1999. Her past
work experience includes working for China Medical University
Hospital in Taichung and Min-Sheng Healthcare System in Taoyuan,
and was in charge of marketing, planning, and administration.
¡@¡@Upon arriving to Jen-Ai Hospital - Dali, Jennifer says,
"It is very clear that Dr. Chan Liao, the Superintendent
of Jen-Ai Hospital, intends to provide international patients
with the best medical care possible in Taichung and he seems
extremely determined to internationalize the hospital. Internationalization
is not only to provide bilingual medical environment or various
language services, but it is about understanding and meeting
the needs of the international patients, by constantly improving
its services".
¡@¡@The International Patient Center welcomes the new Project
Manager in assisting the growth of the Center under the guidance
of the new Program Director of International Patient Center,
Mark Chan, MBA. Mark has obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree
in Philosophy from New York University in 1995; and got his
Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management
from Boston University Graduate School of Management in 1998.
His past work experience includes working for Brigham &
Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts (Harvard-affiliated
medical institution) as a Project Manager in the Department
of Surgery, working on physician's incentive compensation, project
management and financial analyses. Currently, Mark also works
part-time for National Health Research Institutes in Taipei
as Scientific Editor, editing manuscripts or articles written
in English to be submitted to scientific journals in the U.S.
¡@¡@In the near future, the International Patient Center aims
to add more bilingual signs inside the hospital; improve the
hospital's English websites; provide interpretation and translation
services; participate in various events organized by international
organizations in Taichung; strengthen the cooperation with foreign-based
companies in Taiwan; and begin talks with hospitals in other
countries to form international collaboration.
¡@¡@With more and more international patients taking advantage
of the service provided by the Jen-Ai Hospital International
Patient Center, the International Patient Center Team hopes
to add many value-added services in the future, to meet the
demands of the international community living in Taichung.
