Bilingual Doctors & Staffs
We highly recommend using our Jen-Ai Hospital bilingual staffs for the best clinical experience. However, it may be possible that your doctor may still require an interpreter at your medical appointments in order to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding. If you need an interpreter, please inform the International Patient Center (04-2481-9900 ext. 1995, 2911) when making your appointment. At least 3 working days (not including holidays) may be needed to find the specific interpreter that you are seeking.
Although on-site interpretation in English is available, our International Patient Center is also able to arrange telephone interpretation by 3-way calling or conference calls in other languages, for urgent situations or emergencies . Yet, for the best experience at our hospital, we strongly suggest that you call us in advance, so that we can arrange the interpreters that may be needed for your particular appointment.
Interpreters
With the help provided by the volunteers found all over Taichung, Jen-Ai Hospital provides free interpreter services to patients who do not speak Chinese or have difficulty understanding Chinese. Interpreters can be invaluable in explaining important medical information, such as doctors' instructions, what to expect from surgery and how to take medications.
The hospital will make every effort to provide interpreting services in a wide variety of languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Afrikaans, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian / Indonesian, Tagalog, Burmese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Hakka Dialect, etc. These volunteers will be available during regular hours to accompany international patients to medical appointments and assist them in communicating with all the staffs throughout the hospital.
